Medicare is government sponsered health insurance that was started in 1965.

Generally, Medicare is for people who are 65 years or older.

People under age 65 may qualify for Medicare if they have certain disabilities.

People with kidney failure, also known as "End Stage Renal Disease" may qualify for
Medicare regardless of their age.
