Ohio Medicare Supplement

How to Get Free Help Without the Hassle of High Pressure Sales

Jim came to our website and the fact is, he was very confused about his Ohio Medicare options.

Jim had been told by another agent that if he got a Medicare Advantage plan, that he wouldn't have to pay anything for his insurance.

What the agent didn't tell him was that with that Advantage plan, he would have to share in a portion of his medical costs, which ended up costing Jim much more than he anticipated.

One of our Ohio Medicare Supplemental experts spoke with Jim and explained that in Ohio, a Medigap plan (which is the same thing as a Medicare Supplement plan), might be a better choice for the following reasons.

1. Freedom of Health Care Choices

With the Medicare Advantage plan Jim had before, he had to stay in a network of plan doctors. When he got sick, he couldn't go outside of that network, which really limited his health care choices.

Now that Jim has a Supplement , he is able to go to any doctor, anywhere in the country that accepts Medicare. In fact, he doesn't even need a referral!

2. Predictable Costs of Health Care

With his Advantage plan, Jim didn't realize how much some procedures were going to cost him. He had no way of predicting exactly how much he would have to pay for his medical costs.

Now, with a Medigap policy, he knows exactly how much his health care will cost. In fact, his health care costs are the same exact cost for his Part B premium (which is automatically taken out of his Social Security) and his Medicare Supplement premium.

FAQ's About Ohio Med Sup Plans

FAQ's About Medicare Supplement plans in Ohio

Q. I received a Letter from Medicare telling me that my coverage is being canceled (due to a Service Area Reduction)... What Should I Do?

 A. If you received a letter from Medicare or from your insurance company telling you that your coverage is being dropped, you should call us immediately. We can compare all of the Ohio Medigap plans in your county and help you find the right coverage at the lowest possible price.

Please remember that 2010 in Ohio is different than past years. There are many PFFS plans (Private Fee for Service Plans) that are being reduced or dropped (especially in rural areas).

You also should know that in 2010, the only "Open Enrollment" period will be from Nov. 15th - Dec. 31st. If you receive a letter on October 2nd, you will have what is called a "Special Election Period." In this case, you can enroll in a new plan beginning October 3rd- January 31st of 2011. Call us today for assistance. Call 1-877-763-3442.

Q. Why is there so much difference in the price between Medicare Supplemental Plans in Ohio?

A. All Ohio Medigap plans are "Standardized". This simply means that all insurance companies offering a Medicare Supplement Plan F in Ohio  have to offer exactly the same benefits. The only real difference is the price. Some insurance companies charge higher premiums than other companies for the same benefits. This is why it is so important to shop around.

Q. Can I be turned down because of a pre-existing medical condition?

A. If you are in a guaranteed issue period (i.e., you qualify for Medicare and are losing group benefits, or you are just turning 65, or you have been receiving disability benefits for 2 years), you can not be turned down for any reason, except End Stage Renal Disease (kidney failure). If that applies to you, then you will be covered by a different program.

Q. Will I be covered if I travel to another state?

A. If you choose Supplement to Medicare, you will have the freedom to go to any doctor or hospital that accept Medicare. With the right coverage, you may even be covered for emergencies while traveling in foreign countries.

You can get your Ohio coverage in a matter of minutes. Call and speak with one of our trusted advisers today.

A. Although we believe that a Medicare Supplement is a better choice in most situations, there are times when a Medicare Advantage Plan is still a good fit. To find out if there are any Ohio Medicare Advantage Plans available where you live, ask about that when you call.

Call 1-877-763-3442.

Q. How do I qualify for Ohio Medigap Insurance?

Q. What if I am disabled? Can I get a Supplemental Plan?
